2023 Fall Fashion Trends - Flyover State & Pocket Book Friendly

Even though it’s 95 degrees in the Midwest this weekend every year I use Labor Day as my marker to transition to Fall!! My décor and my closet! (yes I do have two closets that I need to move clothes between!) Here are some of my favorite and not so favorite fashion trends for this Fall Season that WON’T BREAK THE BANK!!!!

Classic Cuts & Classic Wear

Oversized Tailoring is transitioning to classic cuts and classic wear. I don’t want to call it preppy but it is a bit of a preppy style.

Red

Red remains a staple color and I don’t love it. Red really washes out my complexion, personally. Though I am never opposed to a red soled heel!! :) Here are a couple good pieces you can transition from Summer to Fall!

Butter Yellow

I honestly hate this…it’s VERY hard to look good in pale yellow. I could maybe get behind some accessories in this color, maybe, honestly it still looks a bit like margarin to me…

Wednesday Addams

I absolutely love this! Black, lace, tights, SIGN ME UP!! I’m such a basic colors only girly.

Leather

For what I feel is the 8th season in a row…I am getting a bit tired of this. Maybe because my pregnant butt really doesn’t look great in a leather skirt anymore.

Sherpa Lined Coats

I don’t love this trend but really can’t put my finger on why that actually is…

Duvet Coats

Definitely enough coat here to keep you warm in those flyover state winters…

Peplum Tops

I should have kept all those peplum tops from college because here they are again! I am not an educated fashion advisor by any means, simply a consumer, but I would guess this is just the introductory season for peplum tops. We’ll likely see these again come next Spring/Summer of 2024.

Macys Akalia Emerald Peplum Top - $135 SALE

How adorable would this be for a Christmas party?!
