Bloomsbury Farm Tour

Growing up just 10 minutes outside of Atkins, Bloomsbury Farm was a staple in our elementary school girl scout trips. 20 years later and I hear about all their amazing seasonal events! So I packed by bags and my mama up, went exploring, and here is what we found!

First, A Little History

Bloomsbury Farm has been around since the 1850s and has been a tourism destination for almost 30 years. It’s been growing as the agricultural scene gets more-and-more popular. People (even myself) wanting to get out of the constant movement of the city to slow down a bit. More and more unique attractions and events get added, to an already packed, roster every year!

Events

They have special events for all ages almost all year long!! (give them time, I am sure they will tackle winter here shortly :))

Summer

  • Wine & Flower Festival

    • This is what me and my mama went to to get the DL on Bloomsbury Farms! You get to enjoy wine slushies and wander the zinnia fields, picking your own bouquet! Literally two of my favorite things - wine & flowers. And they have live music in the evenings!!

    • Happening end of July to early August, Friday - Sunday. So sad that this is over for this year but keep reading for more amazingly unique events happening this fall and annual events next spring!

    • Cost:

      • $14.95 admission (if ordered online, $18.95 at the door)

      • $25 bucket of flowers

      • $8 wine slushie

      • TOTAL: $47.95

Fall

  • Harvest Festival

    • Pick your own pumpkin right out of the pumpkin patch! Plus a 10 acre corn maze (though that gives me a bit of anxiety)

    • Happening September 30th - October 30th, Friday - Sunday

  • Sunflower Festival

    • A Fall Flower Fest! A frolic in the sunflowers! Such a GORG flower and I am sure even more GORG photo ops! I cannot wait for this September!

    • Happening September 16th - 25th, Friday - Sunday

    • Cost: TBD but I imagine it will be similar to the Flower & Wine Fest

  • Scream Acres (NOT super family friendly)

    • Looking for something a bit more scary then a sunflower? Look no further. I am not a fan of horror but I might brave it to go see this 4 part attraction:

      • 3D Sinister Silo - Creepy Carnival Themed

      • Cell Block Z - Zombie Apocalypse Themed

      • The Slaughterhouse - Haunted House (think Jason’s House from Friday the 13th…)

      • Haunted Cornfield - Sinister Style Corn-maze

    • Happening October 1st - 29th, Friday - Sunday, dusk - 10 PM

One Time Events!!

  • Hocus Pocus Movie Night

    • View your favorite movie on an outdoor screen! Maybe the Sanderson sister’s will stop by.

    • Happening September 24th

  • Wine with the Witch

    • A Halloween Party no one will soon forget…creepy food, wine, and company :)

    • Happening October 20th

Spring (more to come!)

  • Bunny Bash Easter Egg Hunt

  • Baby Animal Days

    • Okay definitely putting this on my list!!!!

They boast 25+ things to do on an average day and, boy, they are not wrong!!
