Plan My Gender Reveal With Me

So again, not turning into a mommy blog by any means. BUT it’s so fun to plan these little parties for Baby P!! How can I not share my tips and tricks with you!?!

Theme: What’s the Scoop?

Invites:

Vendor: Canva

We went with digital invites. Honestly, we didn’t want to waste our money on paper invites that go in the trash immediately after the event is done. I designed these myself, Canva makes it so easy! Even if you wanted to print these you definitely could.

Decorations:

Balloon Arch

Vendor: Amazon - do it yourself

We bought the balloons online from Amazon. My husband blew them all up with an air compressor so it didn’t take more then 30 minutes to get them all blown up. (Thank you baby!!) Honestly the worst part was tying all of them off. To get the colors we wanted the balloons were doubled up, one on the inside one on the outside. We learned about half way through we only had to tie the inside one the outside one just suctioned to the inside one. That would have saved our fingers a bit had we looked that up prior to starting…but you live and you learn!

Our arch kit came with this fairly intricate plastic piece to make the arch. Honestly, couldn’t figure out how to use it so I just used double sided tape and it worked just fine! I didn’t really want a full arch anyway just little towers of balloons so it worked. They were a little unstable, maybe they wouldn’t have if I had actually followed instructions…but again live and learn!

What We Ordered

Florals

Vendor: Trader Joe’s - do it yourself

I love putting together different kinds of bouquets with Trader Joe’s Flowers, so this was zero work for me! I picked out about 7 or so filler type flower bundles, nothing too large, I wanted a bit of a wildflower look to the bouquets. It cost a total of about $25 for 3 full bouquets. I just used vases I already had on hand. Simple yet added a nice touch!

Oddly enough it was very difficult to find blue flowers of any kind so I went with pink, white and this blueish-purple. Got to work with what you have!

Food:

Cake

Vendor: Cake Baby

I am not a professional baker and really didn’t want to trust this to Costco. Using a professional baker was the best decision EVER! I loved everything about it. The look, the taste. It was just perfect. She captured exactly what I wanted and was so easy to work with. Plus is was absolutely DELICIOUS!!

As a side note, we used our wedding cake cutting kit to cut this cake. Just a cute, sentimental touch.

Ice Cream Bar

Ingredients from Walmart - build your own ice cream sundae

Super easy, just ordered everything online and picked it all up at one time. I used little mason jars I had on hand (from when I really got into overnight oats for a month) to make it a bit more fancy and wala!!

Cupcakes In A Cone BLAST FROM THE PAST!!

Vendor: Walmart - do it yourself

I forgot how much I loved these as a kid and they were super easy to make! Buy some jumbo cones (important they are jumbo, learned that the hard way), confetti cake mix, and frosting and that’s really all you need. You prepare the cake mix as it says on the box. Set the cones up in a muffin pan so they don’t topple over in the oven and fill them up to about 3/4ths of the way (maybe a little bit more) and then bake the cupcakes in the cone for about 30ish minutes. Let them cool and then frost. DONE!

Drinks

Vendor: Walmart - pink lemonade and Kool Aid Jammers

Again, super easy, just picked these up with the ice cream bar supplies and we were ready to go! Kool Aid Jammers were a hit!
