Sunday Reset

Nothing is worse then going into the week feeling unprepared. Here are my top 7 ways I reset to feel like I’ve got it together to start the work week!

Meal Prep or Plan (including cleaning out the fridge)

I use to be way better at this and I need to get back into it. It honestly saves me so much time during the week and trips to the grocery store!

A couple different things I have done in the past is one, HelloFresh. Honestly, I loved this. It was so much easier then planning and buying ingredients in bulk that I really only needed a tablespoon of and you got so many different vegetarian options. We never had the same meal twice unless we wanted to!

Second thing I tried (after HelloFresh got a little too pricey) and it’s not really meal prepping, just planning ahead. I plan out the meals I was going to make for the next week and shop accordingly. I write the meals for the week on our chalk board and cook accordingly. I am not an extraordinarily good cook so my wheelhouse is kind of small. We have to repeat meals quite a bit but it saved me the “what should I make?” conversations with my husband every evening and it ensured I had all the ingredients I needed in the house.

Prior to being pregnant I really wasn’t much of a breakfast eater so I almost always left that part alone. For lunch my husband eats sandwiches and I eat a Dole Salad Mixs or something similar. Neither requiring much prep work.

I also find it super cathartic to clean out the fridge prior to buying food for the next week. Get rid of all the leftovers from the past few nights, any expired food or squishy fruit, etc. It just makes room for your new meals

Deep Clean Your Makeup Brushes

Nothing like a fresh paint brush to start the week. I don’t wear makeup as much as I did in the past (whole working from home thing has quite a few perks). This will seriously save your skin long term. You never want to use a dirty brush on your face.

For daily cleaning I use the Clinque Brush Cleanser Spray but for my deep clean I use EcoTools Cleansing Shampoo both available at Ulta!

Wash Your Sheets & Towels

Nothing feels better then sleeping in clean sheets and ending your pamper routine with a fluffy clean towel! I swear I sleep better that way…plus then you won’t have to wash your sheets mid-week, saves you that time!

Pamper Routine

This might be my favorite one! It just makes me feel like my body is prepped and ready for the week ahead! This is a multi-step process so bear with me.

One, I wash my hair. I use Redken Blondage as I have blonde hair. I usually only wash my hair twice a week. After I am done washing I use Olaplex No. 8 Intense Moisture Mask. Important part here is to do this right after you wash your hair, pin it up, and leave it until you’re done with your shower. It likes to sit in the hot steam.

While my hair is steaming up. I move along to exfoliating my body with sugar scrub. I prefer sugar scrub over salt scrub. Salt scrub is just too harsh on my skin. I love Lathermore Soap Companies’ Sugar Scrub. After that I body wash to get all the scrub off. I use Dove Body Wash Intense Moisturizing Skin Cleanser. It’s really the only thing I have found that doesn’t dry out my skin. Then I shave. My whole body. Final body prep is Shower Oil. This has been incredibly helpful with my dry skin! My favorite is from Buff City Soap. It’s a real miracle worker!

Next is face. While in the shower I use my typical face wash, Neutrogena Gentle Foaming Face Cleanser. Then I exfoliate my face. I use YOUTHMUD Glow Stimulating & Exfoliating Treatment Face Mask. Then I wash my hair mask off and shower is done! Now moving on to out of shower pamper routine!

First thing I do is brush my hair and apply Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Oil. I pull it up in a claw clip and leave it till I go to sleep. Hair is finally prepped for the week! Now to finish the face! Toner first, I use Thayer’s Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel Facial Toner in Rose Petal. Next I do a clay mask, I prefer Freeman Anti-Stress Dead Sea Minerals & Lavender Clay Facial Mask. Final mask, I use TonyMoly I AM Sheet Mask in Rose. Then I rose quartz roll the face mask liquid that’s left on my face. Let that dry and then apply my nigh time face cream! I use No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Eye Cream and Bare Minerals SKINLONGEVITY Long Life Herb Night Treatment.

DONE!!

Water Your Plants

Most of my houseplants only require a once a week watering so I make sure and get it done prior to the week starting. It’s just one less thing I have to try and fit in around work. I should also mention I have probably 15 so it’s a bit of a time commitment for me. Maybe if you only had one or two it wouldn’t be as important to do prior to the week starting.

Clean Up & Stock Your Work Space

I am a bit of a messy worker. Notes everywhere, coffee cups and dishes all over the desk. Sunday I always clean up and tidy the office space. I put my computer back on the dock, check when my first meeting on Monday starts, take out the trash and clean up the dishes. It just refreshes the space prior to starting the work week. A clean slate to conquer the week ahead!

I also spend about 10 minutes updating my day planner and large calendar for the next week. Making sure I don’t miss any important appointments, events, etc.

Plan Your Outfits for the Week

Again, I use to be much better at this then I am now. Being both pregnant and working from home makes for a more casual work look. I typically wear either a dress or pair of joggers with a sweater. Neither of which takes a ton of preplanning.

When I did go into the office and look nice every day I would pick out and hang my outfits on the mirror for the week. It honestly saved me so much time in the mornings!
